Legendary Hringtuinek River in Hmar Hills

The HRINGTUINEK River, flowing on the outskirts of Sartuinek village in Hmar Hills, is one of the most important rivers associated with Hmar history. As per oral tradition, this legendary river is frequented by people who met with unnatural deaths (sar thi). As the spirits crossed the river, they are said to be quenching their thirst with the fresh river water before undertaking the next journey... their final destination. Photo Year: 2014.
